More than 1,000 students and 150 teachers from 50 schools across Greece and Cyprus<\/strong> gathered in Corfu from April 22 to 25, 2026<\/strong>, to celebrate the authentic medium of youth expression and musical creativity: European School Radio<\/strong>.<\/p>\nThe 10th Anniversary Student Radio Festival \u2013 European School Radio<\/strong> was completed with great success, marking the largest edition in its ten-year history and leaving a strong impact on the educational community. Over four days, students and teachers collaborated, exchanged ideas, created content, communicated, had fun, inspired and were inspired.<\/p>\n Since its launch in 2014 in Kalavryta, with the goal of connecting schools producing radio content through the European School Radio platform, the Festival has evolved into an established educational institution. Schools now integrate it into their annual activity planning, recognizing the value of media literacy, podcasting and music creation as tools of communication and interaction among students.<\/p>\n This year, the Scientific Society European School Radio<\/strong> hosted its annual event in Corfu, co-organized locally by the Ionian University<\/strong>, the Directorate of Secondary Education of Corfu<\/strong>, the Regional Development Fund of the Region of Ionian Islands<\/strong>, and AHEPA Corfu<\/strong>, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The Festival opened on Wednesday, April 22<\/strong>, at the fully packed Nausithoeio venue, with the Welcome Ceremony featuring a musical performance by the Corfu Music School.<\/p>\n On Thursday, April 23<\/strong>, ice-breaking activities took place at the Corfu Gymnastic Association, designed by the European School Radio team. The space filled with color as 28 mixed student groups<\/strong> were formed, each led by students from the 3rd Gymnasium of Corfu, promoting collaboration across schools.<\/p>\n Five parallel specialized workshops followed, led by academics from the Department of Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University and members of European School Radio. The workshops were hosted in various venues across the city:<\/p>\n In the evening, the spectacular DJ Party \u201cYouth in the Mix\u201d<\/strong> took place at 54 Dreamy Nights. Students performed live DJ sets, following their preparation guided by DJs Alexandros Anthis and Filippos Pantazis.<\/p>\n On Friday, April 24<\/strong>, the 1st and 2nd General Lyceums of Corfu hosted the mixed groups in 28 classrooms. Supported by mentors, students completed their radio missions: developing ideas, writing scripts, recording and producing podcasts, which were then uploaded to the European School Radio platform.<\/p>\n At the same time, the Music Stage at Nausithoeio showcased performances by school groups, curated by the Corfu Music School. The exhibition of school radio teams enriched the atmosphere, while a live marathon radio broadcast, organized with students from the 3rd Gymnasium of Corfu, transmitted performances and interviews.<\/p>\n Participants also explored Corfu through cultural visits, a city treasure hunt and guided tours organized by the Hellenic Cricket Federation<\/strong> and ERT Corfu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n On Saturday, April 25<\/strong>, the Awards Ceremonies of the \u201cMake it Heard 2026\u201d<\/strong> contest took place at the Ionian Academy.
