 άς ιδρύθηκε την 1η Αυγούστου 1924 από πρόσφ
 υγες\, καταγόμενους από το νησί Μαρμαράς 
 στην Προποντίδα. Ως τα τέλη της δεκαετία
 ς του ' 60\, εγκαταστάθηκαν στον οικισμό κα
 ι αρκετοί κάτοικοι από το γειτονικό\, Παρ
 αδοσιακό  Οικισμό\, Παρθενώνα. Το χωριό α
 ναπτύχθηκε αλματωδώς και τουριστικά μετ
 ά την οικοδόμηση του ξενοδοχείου Πόρτο Κ
 αρράς\, τη δεκαετία του ' 60. Ο ναός των Παμ
 μεγίστων Ταξιαρχών χρονολογείται από το
  1937\, ενώ ενδιαφέρον είναι και το ξωκλήσι 
 της Ζωοδόχου Πηγής.\n\nΤο Πασχαλάκειο είν
 αι ένα διώροφο πέτρινο κτίριο όπου στεγά
 ζεται ο Πολιτιστικός Λαογραφικός Σύλλογ
 ος Ν. Μαρμαρά ΠΡΟΙΚΟΝΝΗΣΟΣ\, δωρεά του Δη
 μητρίου και της Αρτεμισίας Πασχαλάκη. Όσ
 οι επισκεφτούν το Πασχαλάκειο θα παρακο
 λουθήσουν ένα βίντεο με την ιστορία του 
 χωριού και θα ξεναγηθούν στα εκθέματα-μν
 ήμες των Μαρμαρινών.\n\nΑποστολή μας είνα
 ι να περιγράψουμε τις δυσκολίες που αντι
 μετώπισαν οι πρόσφυγες από την Προποντί
 δα όταν εγκαταστάθηκαν στον Ν. Μαρμαρά κ
 αι πώς κράτησαν ζωντανές τις μνήμες από 
 την χαμένη πατρίδα.\nΑπαιτείται κράτηση !

 nded on August 1\, 1924 by refugees\, originating from the island of Marma
 ras in the Propontis. Until the end of the 60s\, several residents from th
 e neighboring Traditional Settlement\, Parthenon\, also settled in the set
 tlement. The village developed by leaps and bounds in terms of tourism aft
 er the construction of the Porto Karras hotel in the 60s.\n\nThe church of
  Holy Archangels dates from 1937\, while the chapel of Zoodochos Pigi is a
 lso interesting.\n\nPaschalakeio is a two-story stone building that houses
  the Cultural Folklore Association PROIKONNISOS of N. Marmaras as donation
  of Dimitrios and Artemisia Paschalakis. Those who visit Paschalakeio will
  watch a video with the history of the village and will be guided through 
 the exhibits-memorials of the local people of N. Marmaras.\n\nOur mission 
 is to describe the difficulties faced by the refugees from Propontida when
  they settled in N. Marmaras and how they kept alive the memories of the l
 ost homeland.[:]
