The Archaeological Museum of Corfu, which inaugurated its re-exhibition in 2018, hosts antiquities from the ancient city of Corfu and the rest of the island. Through 1,600 exhibits, it tells the history of the island from prehistoric times to late antiquity. Among them, the monumental pediment from the Temple of Artemis with the representation of Gorgos, the oldest surviving stone pediment of ancient Greek architecture, stands out.
