
10 Apr Workshop: “When objects speak”

Venue: Nikiti Folklore Museum
Participants: 25 children
Total: 3.5 hours

In this unique workshop, the folklore museum comes to life through five different actions that connect tradition with creativity. Five groups of 5 children are invited to choose one of the following activities, after first being guided through the museum’s treasures:
“I make my own bread”: Children shape dough and learn about traditional bread making. Then they bake them and take them with them.
Participants: 5 children
“I create with clay…bowls and cauldrons”: They create unique traditional cups and clay objects.
Then they take a ready-made one and paint it as they wish. ¨They take all the creations home.
Participants: 5 children
“I dance… traditionally“: They participate in traditional dance classes.
Participants: 5 children
“From the bee to the church”: They make candles from pure beeswax, learning about the tradition of beekeeping. At the end they decorate them with various ornaments as they wish.
Participants: 5 children
“With the loom…I create textiles“: They learn the art of weaving and create their own textiles on a loom.
Participants: 25 children (total of all 5 groups)
The workshop offers an experiential experience full of knowledge, culture and fun, where each group will combine the tour with active participation in a creative activity of their choice.
