Workshop “SPACE FOR US! Seeking Paths of Expression in School”

Facilitators: Giorgos Moschos, lawyer, former Ombudsman for Children, founding member of PRWTA.12, and Myrto Horaite Sideri, member of the youth group PRWTA.12

Up to 30 high school students can participate. Estimated duration: 2.5-3.0 hours

Can students freely express themselves in modern schools? Is there room for expressing thoughts, emotions, concerns, criticism, desires, and dreams? Do we have the freedom to search, create, and communicate what we have inside us? What happens when we feel that the way the school operates doesn’t leave us room to express ourselves?

In this workshop, through games, discussion, and working groups, utilizing the arts, we will exchange views and try to highlight paths and ways through which we can claim space for expression in school.

The workshop is based on the experience and methods already used in the actions of PRWTA.12, an initiative for Article 12 of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child, which establishes the right of children to freely express their opinions.
