A unique touch of innovation and collaboration marked the 9th Student Radio Festival, with the creation of mixed teams of students from different schools for the first time. These teams, guided by ten experienced mentors, showcased their impressive energy and creativity, spontaneously producing 23 unique podcasts on the morning of Friday, April 11, 2025.

This initiative provided young creators with the opportunity to collaborate, exchange ideas, and develop new skills. Later, representatives of the teams presented their podcasts to the mentors’ plenary, who undertook the difficult task of evaluating and selecting the best creations.

The announcement of the evaluation results took place during the third part of the Awards Ceremony for the “Make It Heard 2025” Podcast Competition on the evening of the same day. The announcement was made by the mentors’ representative, the well-known radio producer Apostolos Papageorgiou. Five Special Distinctions were awarded to teams that stood out for the quality of their creative work.

The five Special Distinctions awarded are as follows:

Best Presentation

Alternative Bites team for their podcast Alternative Bites

Indie team for the podcast IndieGod

Best Topic Approach

K-Pop Corn team for the podcast 8th Entertainment Break

The team of mentors who played a key role in the success of this initiative included:

  • Konstantinos Diamantaras – Vice Rector of Internationalization, Public Relations, and E-Governance at the International Hellenic University (IHU), Professor
  • Marina Delianidi – PhD Candidate in the Department of Information and Electronic Systems Engineering at IHU
  • George Kalliris – Professor at the Department of Journalism and Mass Media, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH)
  • Dimitris Papacharalambous – Audiovisual Education Specialist and Lyricist
  • Apostolos Paraskevas – Education Consultant PE70, 2nd Regional Position of Primary Education Thessaloniki, Coordinator of the Interregional Thematic Network “Internet Safety”

The success of this initiative highlights the power of collaboration and creativity among students and the crucial role of mentors in supporting and inspiring young talents in the field of radio and podcast creation.
